Chucrallah Harb

Chucrallah Harb (born May 5, 1923 in Tannourine ; † December 31, 2019 ) was a Lebanese clergyman and Maronite bishop of Jounieh .

Life

Chucrallah Harb was ordained a priest on June 19, 1949 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 15, 1967 Bishop of Baalbek . The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and the whole of the Orient , Pierre-Paul Méouchi , ordained him episcopal on May 14th of the same year . Co- consecrators were Elie Farah , Archbishop of Cyprus , and Joseph Khoury , Archbishop of Tire .

On August 4, 1977 he was by Paul VI. appointed first bishop of the Jounieh eparchy, which was established on the same date. On June 5, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. At the same time, the Eparchy Jounieh was incorporated into the Eparchy Joubbé, Sarba and Jounieh . Thus Harb remained the only bishop of Jounieh.

Harb was the moderator of the Maronite Patriarchate Tribunal for Administration and Justice.
