Elie Farah
Elie Farah (born December 27, 1909 in Kafar Berhem ; † July 22, 2003 ) was Archbishop of Cyprus of the Maronites in Cyprus from 1954 to 1986 .
Life
Elie Farah received on 9 April 1935, the sacrament of Holy Orders . 1954 he was by Pope Pius XII. appointed Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Cyprus and was thus head of the Maronite Archdiocese based in Nicosia . The episcopal ordination donated him on September 26, 1954, the then Archbishop of Tire Pierre-Paul Méouchi , from 1955 Patriarch of Antioch of the Maronites; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Cairo Pietro Dib and the Archbishop of Beirut Ignace Ziadé , Archbishop of Antélias of the Maronites in Lebanon.
Farah attended the first, second and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council . In 1986, John Paul II granted his age-related resignation .
