Ignace Ziadé

Ignace Ziadé (born January 26, 1906 in Harharaya , Lebanon , † March 31, 1994 in Beirut , Lebanon) was Archbishop of the Maronite Archepark Beirut .

Life

Ignace was born in Ziadé Governorate Lebanon Mountain , in Harharaya , located in the district of Keserwan ( Jounieh is located).

The ordination in the Maronite rite received Ignace Ziadé at the age of 23, on 26 May 1929 in Syria .

At the age of 40, on April 27, 1946, he was appointed bishop of the Maronite Archeparchy of Aleppo in the Syrian city of Aleppo of the same name . The episcopal ordination was solemnly celebrated on November 24, 1946. On December 13, 1950, Ziadé resigned from his episcopate and was appointed titular bishop of Balanea . At the age of 46, on January 26, 1952, he was appointed and installed as Archbishop of Beirut . At the age of 80, Ignace Ziadé resigned as archbishop on April 4, 1986.

As retired Archbishop Ignace Ziadé died at the age of 88 on March 31, 1994 in Beirut . In total, Ziadé had been a Maronite priest for 65 years and a bishop for 47 years. In these decades of his pastoral ministry acted as Ziadé Mitkonsekrator in the episcopal ordinations of Elie Farah , Abdallah Bared , Antoine Torbey , Paul-Emile Saadé and Béchara Raï .
