The Mount Lebanon Governorate ( Arabic جبل لبنان Dschabal Lubnan , DMG Ǧabal Lubnān , also French Mont Liban ) is one of the meanwhile eight governorates of Lebanon with an estimated 1,712,278 inhabitants. The administrative headquarters are in Baabda .
The governorate comprises the heartland of the former Ottoman Mutesarriflik Lebanonberg , which as an autonomous province in turn represents the nucleus of the modern state of Lebanon. According to the resolution of the Lebanese parliament of August 2017, the districts of Jbeil and Keserwan are to form the independent Keserwan-Jbeil governorate based in Jounieh.
