Ignazio Mobarak

Ignazio Mobarak (born September 26, 1876 in Rismayya , Lebanon , † May 19, 1958 in Beirut ) was Archbishop of the Maronite Archeparchy of Beirut .

Life

Ignazio Mobarak was born in 1876 in what is now Lebanon. On June 29, 1901, Mobarak was ordained priest in the Maronite rite at the age of 25 .

At the age of 42, on February 23, 1919, he was appointed Archbishop of Beirut . The episcopal ordination took place on March 2, 1919, when Archbishop Elias Pierre Hoyek was the main consecrator ; Bishop Emanuele Phares was co-consecrator . In 1951 Archbishop Mobarak resigned from office and was named titular Archbishop of Gabala .

After a total of 57 years as a priest and 39 years as a bishop in pastoral service, Archbishop Ignazio Mobarak died at the age of 81 on May 19, 1958 in Beirut .
