Tobias Kuhn ( Tobias Felix Kuhn ; born January 7, 1975 ) is a German musician , singer-songwriter , film composer and music producer .

Life

Tobias Kuhn went to kindergarten in Cambridge , he spent his school days first in Heidelberg , Beijing and later in Würzburg , where he founded the band Miles in 1992 with a school friend . The indie rock band released three albums by 2003 and achieved a number one hit in Japan in 2000 with the single Perfect World . In 2004 Tobias Kuhn started his solo project Monta . Both Monta albums were popular critics albums. Among other things, Where circles begin was album of the week in The Sunday Times .

Kuhn produced the album Heureka for Tomte in 2008 and also worked there as a musician on guitar and bass. In the same year he supported Udo Lindenberg as a co-producer on two tracks on the album Stark wie Zwei and composed the piece of music I pull my hat . In 2008 he also wrote two Monta songs for the Wim Wenders film Palermo Shooting . In 2009 he was co-producer and musical director of the album MTV Unplugged in New York by Sportfreunde Stiller . In 2011, Tobias Kuhn produced the debut album of Thees Uhlmann and Uhlmann wrote the music. In 2012 Die Toten Hosen hired him as a co-producer for their studio album Ballast der Republik . He wrote various songs for the soundtracks of the children's films Five Friends , a remake from 2012 based on the books by Enid Blyton .

In 2012 he wrote and produced their new album with the Scottish duo Martin & James in Los Angeles. He composed the music for the television series Add a Friend and composed the song I Couldn't Care Less with Leslie Clio and her producer Nikolai Potthoff , among others . In 2013 he worked as a composer and producer for Adel Tawil's debut single Lieder . Together with Peter Brugger , he wrote the title song My Head Plays Bingo for the film Rico, Oskar and the Deep Shadows .

With Nikolai Potthof and Kenzie May, he wrote the song Weekend under the band name "Mocki" , which was released on the French label "Kitsune" and attracted attention in the Jai Wolf remix. In spring 2015 he produced the English artist Kelvin Jones together with Sacha Skarbek . In collaboration with Sebastian Wehlings , he wrote the song Blaues Auge for Udo Lindenberg , which appeared on his album Stronger Than Time in 2016. From summer 2015 he worked with Clueso on his album Neuanfang , which entered the German album charts at number 1 in October 2016 .

In 2016 he produced their second album Blossom together with the band Milky Chance in Kassel, Rothenburg an der Fulda and Berlin and was involved in Die Toten Hosen's album Laune der Natur in 2017 . At the beginning of 2017 he wrote the music for the movie Amelie rennt together with Max Perner , which was released in September 2017. Furthermore, Tobias Kuhn co-wrote the song Here With You , the joint single of the DJs Lost Frequencies & Netsky, in 2017 . The title reached number 2 on the singles chart in Belgium and was awarded a platinum record .

As a co-writer, Tobias Kuhn also co-wrote the song “Living In The City” by Rhys Lewis in 2017. In 2017 he was also co-writer on Mark Forster's song "Chöre" and the song "Once", which appeared on the album "Liebe" in 2018 and was released as a single.

Kuhn also produced the album Sturm & Dreck by the band Feine Sahne Fischfilet , which was released on January 12, 2018 on the Audiolith label . The album entered the German charts at number 3. The magazine Musikexpress wrote: “To make it sound more harmonious, Tobias Kuhn (ex-Miles), an accomplished pop producer, was hired - and that is definitely good for the project. Finally you no longer have to score points with charm, but now also have the perfect sound for the stadium identity that is increasingly being unlocked. "

Tobias Kuhn also co-wrote Alec Benjamin ’s song "1994", which was released in 2018 on the album "Narrated for you". He also worked as a co-writer and co-producer on the song "Karma" on the EP "Launch" by the band Dreamers .

In 2018 he was also involved in the production and co-writing of four songs on the current Bosse album, including "Augen zu Musik an" and "Ich warte auf dich". Tobias Kuhn co-wrote the song “Trouble in Paradise” on Alice Merton's album “Mint”, released in January 2019 . He also produced and wrote the song "She Says" with the band Gurr , which was released in February 2019.

Tobias Kuhn composed and wrote the original titles for the film " Rocca - Changing the World " (Warner Brothers), which was released in 2019 . He has also written the current singles “Take the Golden” and “Touchdown” with the Australian band Winterbourne and Imbibe.

He is currently working on the current Milky Chance album and has just finished the music for his first Tatort episode Die harte Kern .
