Sebastian Wehlings (* 1973 in St. Tönis ) is a German screenwriter and songwriter .

biography

Sebastian Wehlings studied cultural studies , history and politics at the Berlin Humboldt University and then worked as a journalist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and as editor of its online magazine Jetzt .

He first drew attention as a scriptwriter in 2004 with the east-west comedy Kleinruppin forever . He wrote the film, which received several awards at smaller film festivals, together with Peer Klehmet, with whom he also wrote the script for the youth films Summer - For the great love you have to fight , gangs (both with Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht ) and Rock It! worked together.

In 2011 the special interest broadcaster TNT Serie started its first in-house production with the title Add a Friend . In addition to Wehlings, Christian Lyra was won as a writer for the series. Three seasons were produced through 2014. The station's figurehead received great critical acclaim and was awarded a Grimme Prize for idea and concept in 2013 . Songwriting

In the late 2000s, Wehlings also became active as a songwriter. Together with Tobias Kuhn he was co-author of songs by Udo Lindenberg , Christina Stürmer and Herbstrock . Both wrote the title song You Kill Me (Everyday) of the series Add a Friend and other series music with the Swedish singer Eagle-Eye Cherry . Wehlings also wrote Adel Tawil's first solo album in 2013 and was involved in the number one hit Lieder . Also in the German version of Do They Know It's Christmas? Another number one hit in late 2014, he was involved in the lyrics.
