Lost Frequencies
Lost Frequencies (born November 30, 1993 in Brussels ; real name Felix De Laet ) is a Belgian DJ and producer who achieved international fame in 2014 with the single Are You with Me .
Life
Lost Frequencies is the project of Brussels- based DJ Felix De Laet. He grew up in a musical family and played the piano with his brothers as a child . When he was given his first MacBook Pro in 2011 , he started producing music. In an interview with the German online magazine " Dance-Charts " he told about his pseudonym :
"Because I wanted to get attention by producing my interpretation of" Lost Frequencies ", I was a huge fan of that, that's how Lost Frequencies was born. [...] I started the Lost Frequencies project to offer a new way of looking at tracks that may have already been forgotten. "
In August 2014 he released a remix of the single Are You with Me by the US country singer Easton Corbin from 2012. De Laet's version stayed at number one in the charts in Flanders for five weeks and rose in February 2015 in German-speaking countries as well into the charts. At the end of March, the single first reached number one in Austria and at the beginning of April also number one in Germany and number one in Switzerland . At the Echo Awards in April 2016 , Lost Frequencies received prizes for the single in the categories Hit of the Year and Dance (international) . In 2018 the single received a diamond record for over one million units sold in Germany, making Are You with Me one of the best-selling singles on the German music market .
On May 22, 2015, he released the single Reality in collaboration with Janieck Devy , which reached number one in the Flanders charts at the end of June 2015 and also climbed to number one in Germany at the end of July.
His first album, Less Is More , was released on October 21, 2016 . The album's lead single is a cover version of the song What Is Love by Haddaway from 1992. This recording was originally made in 2014 when Lost Frequencies mixed a cover version sung by singer James Young. This was only remastered and revised. What Is Love 2016 is his fourth consecutive number one single in his homeland. The song also made it into the charts in many other countries and was particularly successful in airplay.
In collaboration with Axel Ehnström, the second single was released on February 17, 2017 after the album was released. This is titled All or Nothing and achieved a top 10 placement in his home country. In spring 2017 Lost Frequencies accompanied the Chainsmokers on their North American tour " Memories ... Do Not Open ".
