Netsky

Netsky (* 22. March 1989 in Edegem , civil Boris Danes ) is a Belgian drum-and-bass - Producer and DJ , in particular by the song Come Alive famous nationally.

Career

Netsky began in the field of liquid funk and often shaped his songs with melancholy melodies, which allowed him to quickly establish himself within the scene. Within a year he had numerous releases on the most famous drum and bass labels, including Liq-Weed Ganja, Spearhead and Talkin Beatz with numerous collaborations with DJs such as DJ Friction, DJ Hype and Fabio. Just a few months after his first release, he was nominated for the Best Upcoming Producer award at the “Drum & Bass Arena Awards”. In late 2009 he signed a recording deal with Hospital Records .

On May 31, 2010 Netsky released his first self-titled debut album, with which he made a jump into the Belgian album charts. In August 2010 he released the song Moving with You from the studio album. This was created in collaboration with British singer Jenna G. The song Iron Heart was also released as a single. In the same year he began to make his name known beyond the borders as a producer of remixes. He mixed for Pendulum , the Swedish House Mafia and Plan B, among others .

On February 6, 2011 the song Tonight was released , a collaboration with the British musician Danny Byrd, who was able to advance into the British singles charts with several D'n'B productions last year. This song also reached the top 100 of the UK charts and was part of Byrd's studio album Rave Digger , which was released the previous year.

On June 25, 2012 his second studio album 2 was released . This was able to place itself successfully in the charts in Great Britain and reached the top of the music charts in the Belgian part of Flanders. The pre-single releases Give & Take and Come Alive were decisive for the success of the album . The latter not only reached the top 10 of the British single charts, but also a placement in Germany and Austria. The song gained fame in the German-speaking part of Europe through its use as a promotional song for the TV station Pro7 . The songs Love Has Gone and We Can Only Live Today (Puppy) were also subsequently released as single.

The non-album track Running Low , released in 2014, is a collaboration with the US Gossip singer Beth Ditto . The song again reached the German single charts, the top of the Flemish singles and a placement in the British singles charts. Charts. However, Ditto does not appear in the official music video. Belgian singer Selah Sue represented her live at the Music Industry Awards .

On July 5, 2015, the song Rio was released as the official lead single of his upcoming studio album. It features vocals from the London-based record producer and songwriter Digital Farm Animals. The track premiered on BBC Radio 1 a month earlier . The official Rio music video was first shown on July 6, one day after its release. The clip, which was designed in cartoon style, was staged by the animation collective Powster. It shows both artists as animated versions in Rio de Janeiro . In the following year, a remix version was produced with the American rapper Macklemore .

On January 22, 2016, the song Work It Out , another collaboration with Digital Farm Animals, was released as a follow-up single from the album. It premiered again the day before on BBC Radio 1. The official music video appeared a month later as an interactive video created by Powster in collaboration with Vevo. Both artists make a cameo from the previous music video. In the Flemish singles charts, the song moved into the top five.

On March 25, 2016, the second pre-release single, Forget What You Look Like , was released, which includes vocals by Elizabeth Lowell Boland, who was sampled from her 2015 all-color collaboration Get High . The song Higher , a collaboration with Los Angeles DJ and producer Jauz, was released as a promo single on the same day. The collaboration premiered two days earlier as Zane Lowe's World Record on his Beats 1 radio show. Higher was released on May 20, 2016 as the third official single from the studio album. The song TNT was also released as a promo single on May 20, 2016. There will be Chromeo member Dave 1 and singer-songwriter Sam Frank, who previously sang Netsky's song Without You . The track was heavily inspired by Prince 's 1979 hit I Wanna Be Your Lover . Netsky counts this one of his musical heroes.

On June 3, 2016, his third studio album 3 was finally released , which, like the previous album 2, advanced to the top of the Flemish album charts. It included collaborations with, among others, Arlissa Ruppert and Emeli Sandé . With the song Here with You , a collaboration with the Belgian musician Lost Frequencies was released on June 30, 2017 , which was able to reach the single charts of both Belgian parts as well as platinum status in Flanders.

In the following year Netsky published the song Téquila Limonada , which the Peruvian singer A: Chal Gesang contributed. The track advanced to number 18 on the Belgian singles charts. Between 2017 and 2018 the Belgian worked with the French DJ and producer David Guetta on his seventh studio album 7 . The songs Battle and Light Headed were created . The song Ice Cold was also created , an electro house-based cover version of Foreigner's song Cold as Ice from 1977.
