Digital Farm Animals (* 1989 as Nicholas Gale in Stanmore , London ) is a British DJ , record producer , songwriter and singer .

biography

Nicholas Gale was born in Stanmore, North West London. At the age of 13 he produced his own music for the first time using the Fruity Loops program . He studied at the University of Nottingham and released his first EP Bugged Out in 2013 , which attracted his first attention. In 2015 he signed a record deal with Syco Records , Simon Cowell's music label .

His first successful productions followed in the same year, including the singles Rio with Belgian DJ Netsky and Be the One with Dua Lipa , and he also released his first solo single, True . Be the One became an international success from the beginning of 2016. Another collaboration with Netsky followed in January, Work It Out , which, like its predecessor Rio, achieved a top 10 placement in Belgium .

Digital Farm Animals achieved their first major hit in their homeland with Millionaire in collaboration with the US trio Cash Cash and rapper Nelly , who climbed to number 25 on the UK charts . He achieved further successes in 2016 with Galantis and Sigala, among others .

In the summer of 2017 he achieved a worldwide hit with Back to You in collaboration with Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha and reached, among other things, the top 10 of the British charts and his first placement on the Billboard Hot 100 . In October followed the release of the song All Falls Down , recorded with Alan Walker and Noah Cyrus , which reached number one in Norway . He also served as a songwriter on Hit Anywhere from Rita Ora involved.
