Until 2010: musical beginnings
Bebe Rexha was born in the Brooklyn borough of New York and grew up on Staten Island . She is the child of Albanian emigrants from Yugoslavia . As a four year old she played in musicals and was very active musically. She learned the piano, guitar and trumpet. She was discovered at 15 and took part in a songwriting workshop. She won the Best Teen Songwriter Award from the Recording Academy , which also hosts the Grammy Awards , and got an early insight into the music business.
Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy brought her to his second band project Black Cards in 2010 as a singer . She made some recordings with the band, after which in 2012 she started a solo career. First she worked as a songwriter for Selena Gomez , among others . In the same year she wrote the song Monster Under My Bed for her planned studio album . The song was passed on to Eminem's producers. To promote their EP and debut album by American singer and songwriter Marc E. Bassy, they planned a co-headlining tour of the United States in October 2017, which would be called "The Bebe & Bassy Tour". 2019: Last Hurray & Call You Mine
