Julie Laska , also Julia Laska , (around 1860 in Pressburg - 19 May 1917 in Vienna ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Little is known about her early life, after Eisenberg she is said to have made her debut in Ödenburg , after the oeml in 1877 in her hometown. Afterwards she was engaged at various Austrian theaters before she is said to have been engaged in St. Petersburg in 1886. Then she went to Linz for two years (ÖML: 1882 to 1889, where her husband Julius Laska worked as theater director, she is said to have mainly played soubrette roles there) and in 1889 to the newly opened German Volkstheater in Vienna.

There she stayed for a year to join the "Münchners" in 1890, took part in three tours of this ensemble and in 1893 joined the association of the newly founded Raimund Theater , where she worked successfully for two years. (OML: 1895-1898).

After that, she only appeared as a guest, at times only as a privatization. Appearances can be traced back to 1904. Most recently she taught in Vienna.
