Cash Cash is an American EDM - Trio from Roseland , New Jersey . The project was founded as a quartet in 2002 under the name “The Consequence” and was initially active in the fields of pop and rock music. Over time, her musical style first oriented herself towards various house subgenres up to future bass .

Band history

Founded Cash Cash in 2002 by the Friends of Sam Frisch, Jean Paul Makhlouf and Jeff Sayers under the name The Consequence and including released several EPs . Including Your Own Place and By the Bedside . After several years of moderate success, they signed a 2007 record deal with Universal Republic Records and changed their band name due to legal problems with the US rapper Consequence in Cash Cash .

The first EP on "Universal Republic" with the new band name as a title, reached the Heatseeker charts of Billboard space 24. This was followed by tours among other things, Sing It Loud and metro station . They released their debut album on December 23, 2008 in the iTunes Store and on January 20, 2009 in American stores.

In April 2009 Cash Cash was on tour with Kevin Rudolf and the Let-It-Rock -Tour.

In 2009 they played on the Warped Tour and supported Cobra Starship in the UK with Sing It Loud . In the fall of 2009, the band was introduced with Family Force 5 and Breathe Carolina . Her first headlining tour Robots in Hightops was May 6-21 , 2009 with bands like All Night Dynamite , The Blue Pages and The Bamboo Shoots .

On March 15, 2010, Cash Cash released a cover version of the Alphaville song Forever Young , which was best known through the playlist of the Hollister Co. shops .

Cash Cash produced the theme song Reach for the Stars and Speak with Your Heart for Sega's Sonic Colors game , which is played during credits. They also performed at the Sonic Boom event in June 2011 and at Sega's press conference at the Tokyo Game Show on September 28, 2011. At both events they performed together with Crush 40 and Jun Senoue from this band. Also in 2012 they could be seen together with Crush 40 on the "Sonic Boom".

After the dubstep production Michael Jackson and the Overtime EP , they released the song Take Me Home in the summer of 2013 , by the songwriter Bebe Rexha, who was celebrating her breakthrough at the time . With this song they celebrated their first chart success and moved into the Top 100 in Germany, Austria and the USA and up to 5th place in Great Britain. In addition, the song sold almost a million times and was awarded several records.

The successor singles appeared the following year Lightning , which recorded with John Rzeznik, and Surrender , both of which can be classified in the field of progressive house music. They also produced the song Untouchable together with the DJ duo Tritonal . With the single Devil , released in 2015, they moved away from the progressive house and pop-inspired style and let themselves be influenced by the emerging trap music. The track was created in collaboration with British singer Neon Hitch and rappers Busta Rhymes and BoB .

In 2016 they started with the single Aftershock , which is based on their progressive style. The song is sung by the singer Jacquie Lee, who is known for her participation in the casting show The Voice (USA) . This was followed by How to Love with singer Sofia Reyes . In the summer of 2016, the song Millionaire was released , which was created together with the producer Digital Farm Animals and rapper Nelly . This brought her back into the singles charts for the first time since 2014. A remix by the Norwegian DJ Alan Walker made it famous .

Parallel to Mollionaire , their fourth studio album Blood, Sweat & 3 Years was released , the title of which was based on the work on the long player. With the exception of Untouchable , the album contains, among other things, all the singles that have been released since Take Me Home . The last release was with Broken Drum on June 17, 2016. The song is sung by Fitz from Fitz and the Tantrums . Their style was based on the future bass popular in 2016 . The song Matches , recorded together with the singer Rozes known from The Chainsmokers ' Roses, is based on this. This was released as a single on March 3, 2017.
