Jeffree Star
Jeffree Star (* 15. November 1985 in Orange County , California as Jeffrey Lynn Steininger ) is an American make-up artist, entrepreneur, fashion designer , singer , DJ and Webvideoproduzent .
Life
Steininger "discovered in his early childhood that he was bisexual". His father died early, and his mother worked as a model. Star experimented with his mother's makeup and stopped going public without makeup. He currently lives in Hidden Hills, California. At the beginning of 2020, he announced the separation from his friend Nathan Schwandt.
Career
Myspace
Jeffree Star used the popular social networking website Myspace in the early 10s to advance both his music and fashion design careers. Jeffree Star used the popular Myspace social network to blog about his life and provide advice on "self-image and self-esteem" as well as fame, beauty and life. The number of his Myspace friends was over 1 million in September 2010. In November 2006 it was the most linked profile in Myspace. Star also became known as one of the most popular independent artists as he was at the top due to his daily ranking on Myspace.
Music career
Star's music career as an electro and dance singer began when he befriended the drummer from the band Peaches , who encouraged him to make music. Star was then asked by Hollywood Undead if he would rap on the song, "Turn Off The Lights" for their debut album. However, the song didn't make it onto the finished CD.
He wrote his first two own songs We Want Cunt - named after his former scene name "Cunt: Queen of the Beautifuls" - and Straight Boys together with Hole and once with Mötley Crüe drummer, Samantha Maloney and singer Jessicka Addams from Scarling.io - his first single, which he offered as a free download to thank his fans. The song is a cover of Rockwell's Somebody’s Watching Me . Metro Station's Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso originally recorded lyrics for the song, however, due to a feud between the band and the star, the band was replaced by Danger Radio's Andrew de Torres.
Cupcakes Taste Like Violence , Star's second extended play, was released on December 9, 2008. This was his first recording that was offered both on CD and as a download . It is also Star's first recording to Popsicle Records by the Warner Music Groups Independent Label Group. Star said the extended play "reminds me of myself. I may look cute, but actually I'm very creepy and brutal inside." Cupcakes Taste Like Violence rose to number six on the Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart Number eight on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. "Lollipop Luxury" was the first single in Extended Play, released on November 18, 2008.
Stars debut studio album , Beauty Killer was released on September 22, 2009. The album's first single, "Prisoner," was released as a download on May 2, 2009. The song received two million views on Myspace after just the second week. Love Rhymes With Fuck You was the album's second single; like Prisoner , it was offered as a download from June 30, 2009. The album debuted at number 122 on the US Billboard 200 chart . It also rose to number 7 on the US Billboard Top Dance / Electronic Albums chart and then dropped to number 12 in week two. A music video for Prisoner, directed by Robert Hales , was originally planned. However, it was later replaced with a music video for "Get Away With Murder," which was filmed on November 7, 2008. The video premiered on the Myspace homepage on January 23, 2010.
Star released a remix cover version of Black Eyed Peas ' Boom Boom Pow , which was offered as a free download. Morgan Pages Radio Edit Mix of "Prisoner" was released on December 18, 2009 as a free download from Star.
He worked with producers Lester Mendez, Nathaniel Motte from 3OH! 3 , God's Paparazzi. Star also performed on the 2009 Warped Tour to promote his new album. In 2010 he made a world tour with the title 2 drunk 2 fuck , with appearances for the first time in Germany, in Cologne, Stuttgart and Munich.
Star released its fifth single "Blush" on February 16, 2010. "Size of Your Boat" was released on July 1, 2010 as Stars' sixth single. This was followed by the song "I'm In Love (With a Killer)", which was released on October 10, 2010 as a free download via Facebook . Star also recorded an Anthem song for the It Gets Better Project called Kiss It Better . The song was also released as a free download on November 4, 2010.
