Somebody's Watching Me is a song by singer Rockwell from 1984 .

history

The song is about a paranoid narrator who is afraid of being watched and followed. The chorus of the song written by Rockwell was sung by his school friends Michael Jackson and Jermaine Jackson . The title reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984 , number 6 in the UK Top 40 and number 2 in Germany . Positions in the top 10 were also achieved in other European countries.

Music video

The music video was designed to match the song, including: floating heads, ravens, cemeteries, a shower and scenes from the film Psycho . The postman seen in this music video is also seen in the music video for Obscene Phone Caller .

In the pilot of the 1980s television series Miami Vice , known for its use of contemporary pop music , one of the main characters, Ricardo Tubbs, dances to Somebody's Watching Me in a nightclub .
