Thriller is a song by Michael Jackson from 1982, which was released on the album of the same name . It was written by Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones .
history
Originally the song was supposed to be called Starlight Love . The demo recordings it was called then Starlight Sun . The monologue at the end of the song, which was not heard in the original US record version, was spoken by Vincent Price . The bass line was played based on the Rick James classic Give It to Me Baby . In the remix version 2003 the intro was changed.
Thriller was released as a single internationally on January 23, 1984 and became a number one hit in Belgium , France and Spain . It was released in Great Britain on November 12, 1983.
