Dirty Diana is a song by singer Michael Jackson , released in 1987 on the album Bad , which was released as a single in April 1988. It was the fifth and final number one hit from the Bad album on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The song has a hard rock sound similar to that of Beat It from the album Thriller . In the place of Eddie van Halen as backing musician came Steve Stevens , who was previously the guitarist of Billy Idol .

Video

In the video you see Michael Jackson singing and dancing on a stage in front of many fans. In between, excerpts of a woman are shown getting into a car in front of the stage. Fans are used for the first bridge of the song. Then Michael Jackson takes off his top and shows his bare torso. At the end of the song, the audience holds candles in their hands and cheers. Then Michael Jackson goes to the car in front of the stage, opens the door and sees the woman who could be seen in the clippings. Slow motion is active while he's looking at her .

The video was shot in Los Angeles in 1988 . The director was Joe Pytka .
