Man in the Mirror is a pop song by Michael Jackson from 1988. It was the fourth single from his album Bad . The title was written by Siedah Garrett (text) and Glen Ballard (music).

The single, produced by Quincy Jones , was released in January 1988, first hit the US charts on February 6, and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for 17 weeks . Man in the Mirror reached number 1 on the US hit parade on March 26, 1988 and was able to hold the top spot for two weeks. It was Michael Jackson's tenth solo title, reaching number 1 on the US charts. In 1989 the song was nominated for a Grammy Award . After Jackson's death in 2009, Man in the Mirror rose again to number 2 on the US charts.
