history
In 1288 the farming settlement Kolchowe (from old Sorbian Kolčov = clearing) was first mentioned in a document. In the late Middle Ages the settlement fell into desolation , after 1445 two possessed men lived in Goltzscha again , and in 1547 even eight.
Hans Christof von Bernstein, landlord to small Borthen, laid in 1554 in the village a Vorwerk and put the farmers , for its possession to enlarge. The Gutsweiler was named after him - Bernklause - and received the rank of a manor in 1606 . In 1636, except for the estate itself, the entire village complex was destroyed by Swedish mercenaries, and the residents were driven out or killed. After the Thirty Years' War , Hans Bernhard acquired the desert again as a fief and resettled farmers. Since it still had the old status of a manor in writing, the estate enjoyed special rights within the Margraviate of Meißen , such as jurisdiction over Gombsen , Golberode and Kautzsch .
The village has been parish to Kreischa from time immemorial, but from 1910 to 1973 Bärenklause and Kautzsch also had their own school system. The estate comprised 159 hectares when it was fragmented in 1945 subject to land reform laws . In 1994 Bärenklause was incorporated into Kreischa and runs a local council with Babisnau, Kautzsch and Sobrigau.
