In 1288 the place Tyzawitz is mentioned for the first time. The origin of the name is associated with the Slavic word for " yew " (cf. Tisová ) or the Old Sorbian word Tisovica (on the yew bush), and the round village shape and the block corridor suggest a Slavic complex and a Sorbian settlement area.

The von Thusewitz family, who were vassals of the bishopric of Meißen , are known as owners in the 14th century . 1305 is a Heinrich von Thusewitz owner of the place. 1398 signed in January of Theisewitz a certificate to the neighboring Brösgen for the Viscount of Dohna the Altzella to donate. In the Dohna feud , too , he supports Jeschke von Dohna and opposes the Meissen margrave. At the end of this dispute, the village of Theisewitz (1399–1401) goes under; the family of von Theisewitz disappears.

In 1455 a manor as an outworks and a tavern, the inn "Zum Schöne Otto", which existed until the 1990s, are mentioned in a document. From 1606 a manor is mentioned, which ruled the land until at least 1764 . In 1794 this was an official manorial farm with a brewery and distillery.

In 1923 the manor on the elevated southern end of the village became a fruit farm. At that time, 80 hectares of arable land had been planted in the vicinity of Theisewitz. Even today we can find extensive fruit growing in the entire Kreischa basin. In 1995 Klinik Bavaria bought the manor and became the seat of the Helene Maier Foundation (endowment 1 million D-Mark). For therapeutic purposes, arable and fruit growing as well as beekeeping, animal husbandry and handicrafts are practiced on the estate.

Theisewitz belonged to the care and administration of Dresden from 1445 , from 1856 to the judicial district of Dippoldiswalde, from 1875 to the administrative authority Dippoldiswalde . In 1936 the neighboring villages of Kleba and Brösgen were incorporated. From 1952 the rural community belongs to the Freital district .

1973 Theisewitz and districts come to Kreischa.
