history

Seal of the community of Quoren

In 1350 the place was first mentioned as Tworne . The name and the earlier fencing indicate a Slavic foundation. The old Slavic name Tworna means “the creator” and refers to a Slavic deity.

Around 1350 the village initially belonged to the Burgraviate of Dohna , whereby Alusche , the widow of Burgrave Fisko, received it as a personal property . In 1397 Jeschke von Donin sold it to the Dresden councilor Lorenz Buschmann for 100 gold guilders .

Soon afterwards it was administered by the Dresden castrum and belonged to the Dresden Council from 1412 to the 17th century and is a Dresden administrative village . The property was only owned by the Zscheckwitz manor from 1684 . During the Reformation , Quohren is said to have been the last village in Saxony to convert to the Lutheran Church.

In 1785 13 farmers, 11 gardeners and 11 cottagers lived in the village. Wheat was especially grown on the fertile soil , as the straw was easy to use for weaving. At the eastern end of the village was the upper mill. Extensive fruit growing took place in the protected areas. In 1805 there were 10,000 fruit trees bearing fruit here, which fell victim to the Napoleonic war .

In 1805 Quohren founded its own school system, the school built later existed as an educational institution until 1973. From 1838 the place became an independent political municipality according to the Saxon rural community code of 1838 .

In 1858 Joseph Klingsohr signed a contract with the Quohren landowners, according to which they would receive 300 marks for every bushel of land if hard coal were found in the Döhlen basin . However, an experimental shaft almost 100 m deep showed little hope and was filled in after 1870.

From 1856 part of the Dippoldiswalde court office, from 1875 Quohren became part of the Dippoldiswalde district administration . 1952 the place comes to the district Freital (later district ), Kleincarsdorf becomes a district. Since it was incorporated on January 2, 1971, Quohren has shared the history of Kreischa.

Until 2001 Quohren was parish in Possendorf.
