The metal band Warmen was founded in 2000 by Children of Bodom keyboarder Janne "Warman" Wirman together with Sami Virtanen and Mirka Rantanen. In 2002, Janne's brother Antti Wirman also joined the band.

style

Stylistically, the band is located in the area of progressive metal or melodic metal . Keyboards and synthesizers are very dominant and lead the melody. Most of the pieces performed are purely instrumental.

A theme present on all albums is the alleged hostility between the composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri , as it is dealt with in the film Amadeus , among others . In addition to original quotes from the film, each album features a masterfully played piece for keyboard harpsichord in the Salieri style ( Salieri Strikes Back, Return of Salieri, Warcry of Salieri ). In addition, there are allusions to the film in the song titles ( Too Many Notes , Beyond Abilities ).

biography

To date the band has released four albums: Unknown Soldier (2000), Beyond Abilities (2002), Accept the Fact (2005) and Japanese Hospitality (2009). All albums were released under the Spinefarm Records label .

For all albums, Janne Warman has invited prominent guests, such as Kimberly Goss ( Sinergy ), Timo Kotipelto ( Stratovarius ), Roope Latvala, who has already played guitar with Waltari and To / Die / For , or Jari Kainulainen (bassist with Stratovarius ). On the 2005 song Somebody's Watching Me from the album Accept the Fact , which was also released as a single, Warman's bandmate from Children of Bodom Alexi Laiho took over the vocals.
