Metro Station is a four-piece American pop-rock - and electro - band from Los Angeles , which was founded of 2006. They officially split on March 23, 2010.

history

In 2006, Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso met in Los Angeles. The connection came about through the Disney series Hannah Montana : Trace's half-sister Miley Cyrus and Mason's younger brother Mitchel Musso play leading roles there. Together with Blake Healy they founded the music group Metro Station and recorded their first song Seventeen Forever . The song became popular on MySpace and not only got them a record deal with Columbia Records , but Anthony Improgo also offered them as drummer and fourth member of the band.

Live in Detroit (2007)

Within a year they produced their self-titled debut album, which was finally released in September 2007. So they were able to place themselves in the top 10 of the "Electronic Album Charts" at the end of 2007 and hold them for months, but both Kelsey and Control as single releases were unsuccessful and did not make it into the charts. The popularity of Metro Station only rose from mid-2008, due to the title Shake It . In April 2008, the album entered the official US charts and worked its way up week after week, up to the top 10. Then the album also made it into the official sales charts. Concerts and tours with better known bands like Panic! at the Disco and Good Charlotte were the result.

In 2009 Blake Healy left the band and in early March 2010 it was announced on the website that Anthony Improgo is no longer a member of the band. There was no official talk of the end of Metro Station , but a planned festival appearance by the remaining duo Musso and Cyrus one and a half months later was canceled. The band officially split on March 23, 2010 after a conflict between Musso and Cyrus. Cyrus then started a solo project called 'Ashland High', while Musso kept the rights to the name "Metro Station".

Reorganization

On May 31, 2011, Musso released the first single after the reorganization on his personal YouTube channel “metrostation2011”. On July 20 of the same year, Musso announced on Twitter that he was working on a new Metro Station album with Anthony Improgo and Blake Healy. On September 25th, Musso released the song Closer and Closer , which was written by Blake Healy. On November 20, they finally presented songs from their new album at the American Music Awards.

Return of Trace Cyrus

Trace Cyrus, who had left the band four years earlier, returned on August 13, 2013. The band released the new single Love & War . They went on The Outsider Tour with The Ready Set , The Downtown Fiction , and Against the Current . On October 28, 2014, the video for the single She likes Girls was released. In 2015 they were part of the Warped Tour, on which they should have an appearance at every appointment.

On June 30th, 2015 they released the current album Savior .
