Aiden was an American post-hardcore band from Seattle , Washington , founded in 2003 , which was conditionally attributed to horror punk . The group separated for the first time in 2012 and came back together two years later. The second separation took place in 2016.
history
In the spring of 2004, high school students Angel Ibarra ( guitar ), Jake Wambold (guitar) and Jake Davison ( drums ) and Wil Francis ( bass ) decided to form a band. They named themselves after a character from the horror film Ring . In July of the same year they presented their first five self-written songs at their first gig in a pizzeria in Seattle . Shortly afterwards, Nick Wiggins joined the band and completed the existing quintet. Her debut album Our Gang's Dark Oath was released in 2004 on Dead Teenager Records, the label of the drummer of the band Zeke, whose production and distribution was largely done by the members themselves. After a tour with the Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein , they were signed by their label Victory Records . In October 2004, Aiden released their second LP Nightmare Anatomy . After touring with HIM at Kerrang XXV in 2006 , they were named Best International Newcomer at the Kerrang Awards , beating Panic at the Disco , From First to Last and Angels & Airwaves , among others .
In mid-2008 guitarist Jake Wambold left the band. In autumn 2008, Aiden went on tour again with her “The suffer little children tour”. They also performed in Germany.
style
Aiden combine post-hardcore and horror punk in their songs . They reveal influences from groups like Thursday , Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed and Cambria , according to the band, other important influences are AFI and the newer Misfits . Aiden say on their website that they play horror rock, but this term is mostly used for a completely different genre.
