Rvssian (formerly RUSSIAN ; * in Kingston as Tarik Johnston ) is a Jamaican music producer .
Career
Johnston grew up in the Jamaican capital Kingston, surrounded by reggae , dancehall and hip-hop ; his father co-founded the reggae label Micron Music Limited . He first gained experience as a DJ until he embarked on a professional music career after graduating from school. He soon entered into a partnership with the musician Vybz Kartel , for whom he produced Life Sweet in 2010 - his breakthrough as a music producer. He later founded his own label, Head Concussion Records . With Wine Slow , sung by Gyptian (2009), Rvssian achieved greater fame , especially in the Latin American music market: in 2014 he was responsible for Passion Whine , a collaboration between Farruko and Sean Paul . He also produced for Shaggy , Dizzee Rascal , Bad Bunny and Nicky Jam .
In 2018 he reached the top of the charts in Italy together with the trap star Sfera Ebbasta and the song Pablo .
