Arcangel

Arcángel (born December 23, 1985 in New York ; real name Austin Santos ) is an American singer and songwriter. He became known through his collaboration with De La Ghetto under the name Arcángel y De La Ghetto .

Life

Arcángel grew up in New York with his Dominican mother, who wanted to be a singer at Las Chicas del Can . He got to know the singer De La Ghetto and produced songs such as "Ven Pégate" and "Sorpresa" with the same. In 2006 he broke away from De La Ghetto and began a solo career. He could be heard on DJ Nelson's album Flow la Discoteka, Vol. 2 (2007) in the song "Chica Virtual". His first solo album, La Maravilla, remained unreleased. Finally he released his debut album "El Fenómino" at the end of 2008 , among others in collaboration with Luny Tunes , Mambo Kingz, Tainy and Noriega. Some of the songs on this album were originally intended for his first album, La Maravilla, including the hit single "Paque la Pases Bien". Another hit on the album was "Por Amar a Ciegas," which helped the album climb the Billboard Top 20 Latino music charts.

In 2008 Arcángel starred in the film "Death in Paradise" and released his first official album. This can be assigned to the genre reggaeton or hip-hop .
