Carolina Giraldo Navarro (* 14 February 1991 in Medellín ), known as Karol G , is a Colombian reggaeton - RnB - and pop - singer . She began her musical career as a child in her hometown Medellín, from where she developed into a singer who is mostly known in Spanish-speaking countries.

Beginnings

Karol G aroused a passion for music at an early age, as her father was a musician himself. At the age of five, she and her sister Jessica Giraldo attended their first music school. At the age of seven, she took part in the talent show X Factor , which roughly corresponds to the American American Idol , which earned her national attention for the first time.

In 2010 she became a background singer with the singer Reykon , who is considered one of the most renowned reggaeton singers in Colombia . In 2012 she made her debut with the song 301 in collaboration with Reykon, which was a real success at the same time and became number one on several television and radio stations.

Career start

In 2013, Karol G released her first solo single Amor de Dos , along with Puerto Rican singer Nicky Jam . The song had more than 75,000,000 views on YouTube and brought her national breakthrough. Other well-known songs included Mañana , in collaboration with Andy Rivera , which became her biggest hit with over 77 million views on YouTube, and Hello from 2016 together with Ozuna .

Private

She is a couple with the singer and rapper Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago ( Anuel AA ).
