Stargate (music producer)

Stargate is a Norwegian music production and songwriting team . It was founded in 1997 by Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen and Hallgeir Rustan in Trondheim .

Career

Stargate achieved first successes with the production of the album Curious by the Norwegian singer Noora Noor in 1999. In the years that followed, they made a name for themselves working for Blue , Mis-Teeq and Atomic Kitten , mostly in the UK . In spring 2005, Hermansen and Eriksen, Rustan had since left Stargate, moved to New York. In 2006 they achieved their international breakthrough with So Sick from Ne-Yo's debut album In My Own Words . The song reached number 1 on the US Billboard charts.

In 2010 they were among the most successful producers in the world, with several top hits with their work for Rihanna ( Rude Boy , Te Amo . Only Girl (In The World) ), Ne-Yo ( Beautiful Monster ) and Katy Perry ( Firework ) could land.

In May 2012, the single was released RIP by Rita Ora , the Stargate with Chase & Status was produced. The track debuted at number 1 in the UK charts and contains numerous elements of dubstep , such as the characteristic wobble bass . With Sia Furler from Australia and in collaboration with Benjamin " Benny Blanco " Levin and Jan Vollers, Stargate produced the first single Diamonds from Rihanna's album Unapologetic , which was released on November 16, 2012 in Germany.
