Bazzi (* 28 August 1997 as Andrew Bazzi in Dearborn , Michigan ) is an American singer-songwriter .

biography

Andrew Bazzi was born in Dearborn , Michigan . His father is of Lebanese origin. Bazzi learned to play guitar in early childhood, and later also drums and bass , among other things . From 2012 he started uploading cover versions of various pop songs to the video platform YouTube . After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles .

He achieved greater awareness for the first time through the Vine platform , on which he had over 1.5 million followers in September 2015. Several single releases followed in 2016 and 2017, including the song Mine , which was released in October 2017 and achieved international fame , with great success . At the beginning of 2018 the song developed into an internet phenomenon on Snapchat , then by February it reached over 72 million streams worldwide on Spotify and entered the charts in many countries around the world and later reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Top 10 Swedish , Norwegian and New Zealand music charts .

On April 12, 2018, Bazzi released his debut album Cosmic . For this he played instruments on all tracks himself. The album rose to number 14 on the US album charts .
