The Audio Bullys are an electro group from the United Kingdom . Their music is sometimes referred to as " hooligan house ".

Band history

The Audio Bullys were founded in 2001 by Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale in their home, the London borough of Kingston upon Thames . They were recorded for their first two albums by the Source UK record company (part of the EMI Group ).

In 2005 they reached number 3 on the UK charts with their hit Shot You Down , which was based on Nancy Sinatra's song Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) .

In the summer of 2008 the duo released the single "Gimme That Punk", the first forerunners of the album "Sunday Nightfever", which should be released in the fall of the same year. After the record company EMI Group separated from the Audio Bullys, this album was never released. Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale then paused for a long time. In 2009, the third album "Higher than the Eiffel" was created within six months and was released at the end of March 2010 by the independent label Cooking Vinyl .

Don Letts was responsible for the visual implementation of the single "Gimme That Punk" in 2008. Letts made a name for himself above all with the outstanding The Clash documentary "Westway to the World" and the chronological punk documentary "Punk!". Based on this documentary and Bob Dylan, the Audio Bullys show their musical socialization in the video.

On February 18, 2012 Tom Dinsdale announced on the band's official Facebook page to leave the Audio Bullys. Franks, however, continues the Audio Bullys together with DJ Andy Amfo and states that they will be releasing new material in the near future.
