Felix Kummer (born June 30, 1989 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, today: Chemnitz ) is a German singer and rapper from Chemnitz. Kummer is known as the singer of the rock band Kraftklub , for which he uses the pseudonym Felix Brummer . He is active as a rapper under his surname Kummer and the stage name Carsten Chemnitz .

Life

Kummer was born in 1989 in Karl-Marx-Stadt (today Chemnitz) as the son of the musician Ina Kummer and the musician Jan Kummer ( AG. Geige ).

Career

In June 2007 he released his first album Feierabend as part of the rap project Bernd Bass & Linus der Profi . In 2008 the follow-up album with towel and hood, produced in the Noxwell Studios, followed . He continued his musical career as rapper Bernd Bass with the school rock band Neonblocks (since 2006). They met in the fitness center ("Kraftclub"). In 2009 it became the band Kraftklub with Felix Brummer as front man and singer and Karl Schumann, Steffen Israel and Max Marschk. His younger brother Till plays bass. Felix Brummer wrote the lyrics of the debut album with K . Between 2016 and 2019, Kummer worked as a feature rapper in songs by Trettmann and Kitschkrieg as well as Zugezogen Masculin and Felly. In June 2019, Kummer continued his solo career as a rapper under the name Kummer with the release of his solo single 9010 . The second single Not the Music followed on August 23, 2019 with a music video. To promote his solo album Kiox , Kummer opened a record store under the same name between Zentrum and Brühl in Chemnitz. The album immediately reached number one in the German album charts.

Social commitment

The music festival Kosmonaut Festival initiated by Kraftklub has existed near Chemnitz since 2013 . Felix Kummer intended to revitalize the Chemnitz district of Brühl with the help of friends. So far, this has failed due to resistance from individual residents. In July 2017, he was reported by right-wing populists for a remark made during a concert .
