The number one hits in the music industry in Austria are determined by GfK Entertainment on behalf of IFPI Austria . The Austrian charts have been created since 1965 , and since January 7, 1990, the sales figures for singles in Austria have been evaluated weekly and published in the Musikmarkt magazine.

The official broadcast of the hit parade takes place on Fridays on the Austrian station Ö3 in the program Ö3 Austria Top 40 by Elke Rock .
