Guuugarutz is a song by the Austrian pop-rap duo Trackshittaz from 2011. The second single from their debut album Oidaah pumpn muas’s was written by the two group members Lukas Plöchl and Manuel Hoffelner and produced by Martin Kromar .

background

Lukas Plöchl performed Guuugarutz for the first time on January 7, 2011 as a solo piece at the casting show Heroes of Tomorrow . In this, the participating candidates had the opportunity, among other things, to present the audience with titles they had composed themselves, some of which have proven themselves very successfully in the Austrian charts. The musician had previously featured the trackshittaz song Oida taunz! , which became a number one hit in Austria, made known to a wider audience. The official commercial release of the studio version took place four days later.

After its premiere, Guuugarutz was compared to the song Kabinenparty by the Austrian pop-rap interpreters Skero and Joyce Muniz from 2010, which made the combination of dialect , hip-hop and electronic dance music popular. However, Plöchl replied that he had already written his song when he wanted to create a "summer hit on Dodel". When asked about the provocative nature of the lyrics, the rapper said that the song should be understood with a sense of humor and should not be taken seriously. He also noted that similar lines in English were not a problem for Austrians.

In contrast to the previous single, no music video was made for Guuugarutz ; The title achieved its popularity almost exclusively through Plöchl's appearance on the television program.
