Skero (* 1972 in Mödling , bourgeois Martin hit or Martin Skerwald ), also skero One one is Austrian hip-hop - musicians and street art Artists who in Vienna lives.

Life

Skero has been dealing with graffiti since 1989 and has organized several exhibitions since then. He became known as a member of the Linz hip-hop group Texta , which was formed in 1993.

In 2005 Skero took part in the Austria for Asia campaign and sang along with the song you need help . The accompanying sampler reached number 1 on the Austrian album charts.

In 2009 Skero released his first solo studio album, Memoiren einer Giant , which includes guest contributions from rappers Kamp , Wisdom , Kayo , Joyce Muniz , McShnek & Schwarzfahrer and Ohvo & Markee and was also released in Germany on Groove Attack . For hip-hop as wearing style thereby join Reggae , Rio Funk and hints from the Viennese song , sung partly in dialect and partly in High German. The radio single artist made it to number 1 on the FM4 charts .

Skero did not gain wide fame as a solo artist until 2010, when his song “ Kabinenparty ” - with the help of the Facebook event entitled Wir manipulate the Charts - Cabin Party as the Number One Hit - reached the top 10 of the Austrian charts. The track is an adaptation of Popozuda Rock 'N' Roll by the Brazilian musician Edu K. At the beginning of July 2010 it was nominated in four different categories for the Austrian Amadeus Music Prize, including best song and best album. He was finally awarded in the categories Song and HipHop / R'n'B . In autumn 2010 Skero was nominated for the Austrian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 , but did not reach the round of the last 30 participants.

For the gardening magazine Der wilde Gärtner with Roland Düringer , which was filmed in 2009 and broadcast in 2011, Skero designed the graffiti on the garden bus.

He was one of the jurors at the finale of the 10th protest song contest in 2013 in the Rabenhof Theater . In 2013 he founded the group Müßig Gang with the Duo Wienerglühn (Jovan Torbica, Rudi Gratzl) . Supported by other musicians at concerts, Müßig Gang dedicates himself to the free reinterpretation of the Wienerlied , expanded to include influences from country, ska, rock, soul and hip-hop. In 2013, Skero announced that he would leave the Texta group to pursue solo projects.
