Tomorrow's Heroes is a casting show that was first broadcast by ORF from September 24, 2010 to January 28, 2011 .

concept

In the show, previously selected candidates have the opportunity to prove their singing talents in public auditions . There is prize money of 100,000 euros for the winner .

Every week two pop stars train the candidates. The audience decides by televoting which of the participants will advance to the next round. In the case of the two candidates with the fewest votes, the jury decided in the first four shows whether they would advance. From the 5th edition on November 19, 2010, only the candidate with the fewest votes will be eliminated.

The format was developed by Mischa Zickler and the program is moderated by Doris Golpashin .

The biggest difference to the previous format Starmania is that the respective trainer selects the song to be presented for the candidate. To this end, the candidates can also present songs that they have written themselves.

Lukas Plöchl became after his appearance on the first final broadcast with the title Oida taunz! signed by Sony Music . success

On the first evening, an average of 348,000 viewers saw the program. The show fell short of the audience figures for the first show of the last Starmania season in 2008 - at that time, an average of 525,000 people watched the songs being presented.

The penultimate broadcast (also the last with coaches), in which Marilyn Manson and Rainhard Fendrich coached the candidates, saw an average of 471,000 viewers. At the finale, an average market share of up to 25 percent could be measured among the total audience, 652,000 watched.
