Julie Frost (* 1970 ) is an American songwriter , singer and music producer. She lives in Los Angeles .

Julie Frost grew up in a rural area in the US state of Vermont and began performing publicly in Chicago in 1992 . Her first solo album, My Wave (2002), earned her a respectable success from several critics; her singing style has been compared several times with that of Jewel . She later founded her own music studio "Happy Child Studios", which mainly produces songs for families and children, and released the album Happy Child Music (2006).

She works for the US company RedZone Entertainment in Atlanta , a music production company, wrote the songs for a variety of internationally recognized musicians and produced. Frost was, although not named as a co-author, among other things involved in the title Umbrella by Rihanna .

She has been working with the Danish musician John Gordon since 2008. Together with him, she wrote and composed the winning title of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 Satellite , which, when interpreted by Lena Meyer-Landrut, became a number one hit in several European countries. In 2011 she wrote the song Masterpiece together with Madonna for the film WE , for which she received the Golden Globe Award 2012 in the category of best film song .
