Bolland & Bolland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bolland & Bolland 1981

The brothers Robert J. "Rob" (born April 17, 1955 in Port Elizabeth , South Africa ) and Ferdinand D. "Ferdi" Bolland (born August 5, 1956 in Port Elizabeth) are a Dutch producer duo. They are also active as musicians , singers and composers for other artists.

Career

Both learned to play the guitar very early on from their older brother Tom. They were discovered in South Africa when they were 10 or 11 years old and almost got a record deal. In 1969 the Bolland family moved to The Hague in the Netherlands . There the brothers played in different bands. As Bolland & Bolland they wrote or produced a number of songs and albums for Falco ( Rock Me Amadeus , Jeanny , Vienna Calling ), Status Quo ( In the Army Now , which they performed themselves in 1981), Roger Chapman ( Techno Prisoners ) and the Dutch pop singer Gerard Joling ( Without Your Love , Nightlife ). Bolland & Bolland also produced the title music for some TV shows, such as Rudi Carrell's Let You Surprise .

Even with their own singles such as B. Summer of '71 and Tears of Ice they were able to penetrate the Dutch and German charts.

After 1992, they released several singles under the name The Bolland Project . The best known and most successful was the Tribute to Falco, recorded in 1998 with the singer Alida . The Austrian singer, with whom the Bolland brothers celebrated great successes in the mid-1980s (especially with the global hit Rock Me Amadeus ), had died in an accident a few weeks earlier.

In 2003 they presented their musical The Three Musketeers in Rotterdam based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas the Elder. Ä. in front.
