Bastiaan Ragas
Bastiaan Johannes Ragas (born June 30, 1971 in Lisse , Netherlands ) is a Dutch singer , actor , musical artist and presenter . He became known as the lead singer of the boy band Caught in the Act .
Life
At the age of 17, having just finished school, Ragas traveled through Europe , America and Mexico with the Christian, multicultural singing troupe Up with People . In 1990 he returned to the Netherlands, where he took acting lessons and joined the musical group Jeans. In 1992 he became the lead singer of the boy band Caught in the Act . The group had numerous hits in Europe and Asia from 1994 and split in 1998.
In 2000, Ragas released his first solo album, Tomorrow Is Looking Good . In 2001 he sang and played the leading role Radames in the musical Aida and was awarded the Johnny Kraaikamp Musical Award . His son was born on November 8 of the same year. The mother is his partner at the time, Laura Vlasblom. The following year he played in the Dutch medical drama Trauma 24/7 with and had some TV appearances and presenters -Jobs. In 2003 he took on the role of D'Artagnan in the musical The Three Musketeers . There he met his future wife Tooske Ragas . The couple married in June 2005 and had three daughters (* 2007, * 2008, * 2010). Ragas' older brother was the actor Roef Ragas, who died in 2007 .
In 2004 he was a member of the jury for the first Popstars season in the Netherlands . His second album Outragas was released in 2005 only in the Netherlands. In March 2007 the album ZIN was released . At the end of 2015 he released a new single called Caught in the Act. In 2017 he took part in the 10th season of the dance show Let's Dance with Sarah Latton as a dance partner . The couple reached twelfth place. In July and August 2017, he hosted five editions of the guessing game Gut Estimated Wins on ZDF .
