Anastacia is the third studio album by the singer Anastacia and was released on March 29, 2004.

history

The album was written and recorded when Anastacia was diagnosed with breast cancer , which is reflected in many of the personal songs on the record. She overcame the disease in just six months. From September 2003 she played the first pieces for the self-titled record together with Glen Ballard ( Alanis Morissette ), Dallas Austin ( TLC , Pink , Boyz II Men , Madonna ) and David A. Stewart . The album reached number one in the UK, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. In Germany the album went four times platinum. The album was never released in the USA.

reception

The website Allmusic .com awarded 4.5 out of 5 stars and selected the album as an “album pick”. Matthew Chisling wrote that the record was a "transitional album" from disco music to "passionate power pop". Kai Kopp from Laut.de awarded 4 out of 5 stars. He praised the “powerful, outward-facing musical orientation”.
