content

The album cover, which shows a penguin and a pink, female seal on ice floes, illustrates the song Kiss the hand, beautiful woman , which describes the adventures of an adulterous womanizer. Penguins also appear in two of the three short tracks ( Drei verliebte Pinguine (1) , Yes, that's Jazz and Drei verliebte Pinguine (2) ). Burli contains a caustic satire on the consequences of accidents in nuclear power plants. In Auf der Nepperbahn , the classic sung by Hans Albers, Auf der Reeperbahn, is parodied at half past twelve: a visitor to Hamburg's red light district experiences a nightmare in a state of intoxication, which he later glosses over. Further topics are the tragic love among the homeless ( sandlers ) and the big ears of Prince Charles ( ear troubles ).

particularities

  • The group name on the top of the record cover is written in bold red letters and just says “uncertainty” across the whole width. Very small is added in brackets and with a black line “(First General)”. The album title, which is placed below, was given the addition "(Part 1)".
  • The tour of the same name was presented by Erste Allgemeine Versicherung , which ten years earlier the band had wanted to sue for similar names.
  • The song Burli was boycotted by the radio station Bayern 3 and then played almost nowhere in Germany on the radio. A vicious rewrite called Kurti on Kurt Waldheim's SA past was played on the tour; this brought the band an advertisement.

reception

The Musikexpress praised the "outstanding text ideas of Kreisler's student Thomas Spitzer" and said that the music was "with various reservations [...] definitely the best accompaniment that has ever happened to a cabaret program".

In the Hörzu it was read: "Earwigs to clap and sing along - with thoughtful things through the back door." And more precisely to the texts: "They are bitterly angry, with a lot of depth and sometimes with very funny puns ."

The album received an average rating of 3.47 out of 5 on Rate Your Music .
