Eik Breit

Eik Breit (born August 14, 1954 in Herzogenburg , Lower Austria ), actually Gerhard Breit , is an Austrian cabaret artist , singer and actor .

Breit played the bass guitar with Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung and was one of the founding members of the band together with Thomas Spitzer , Nino Holm and Anders Stenmo . In 1996 he left the band. From 1996 to 2004 he was a member of the comedy a cappella formation 4Xang , which was founded by Wilfried . With the band Wiener Blue (s) he later performed a program with poems by Josef Weinheber .

He also appeared in all of his formations as an entertainer and cabaret artist , including parodies by Hans Moser , André Heller and Heino and others. v. a.

In 1997 he appeared as Mephisto in the Graz rock musical MephistoMania ; In 2000 and 2002 he played in the musical Angry Housewives and Die Geierwally in St. Pölten . At the Theater im Keller in Graz he played in the world premiere of the play Fuck Machine by Charles Bukowski in 2007/2008 . On the same stage he worked in a total of 6 episodes between 2008 and 2011 in the theater sitcom Familie Penner by the Graz author Martin G. Wanko and in 5 other productions. Other stations in the independent theater scene in Styria were: Musiktheater Graz, Theater absolut, Gamlitz Summer Festival, Comedy in the Park Bad Gleichenberg, KiStL (comedians in St. Leonhard).

Since 2011 he has been performing regularly all over Austria with his life and stage partner Ursula Bruck as a music cabaret duo Ursula Bruck & Eik Breit (debut program: extraordinary - the dissolute -vicious revue ).

He also developed activities in the field of directing: in 2001 and 2003 he staged the first two cabaret programs by the Austrian singer and Austropop icon Stefanie Werger , in 2007 Patrick Süskind's solo piece Der Kontrabass with the Graz orchestral bassist Klaus Melem, and two cabaret programs by the Grazers in 2009 and 2011 Martin Kosch.

For several years (2005–2009) he was musical director of Jazz-Sommer Graz , to which he invited international jazz stars such as Dee Dee Bridgewater , Blood, Sweat & Tears and Mike Stern , and with George Benson , Al Jarreau and Buena, among others Vista Social Club performed.
