There is a waltz song on the Reeperbahn at half past twelve that was composed and written by Ralph Arthur Roberts in 1912 for the revue Bunt ist die Welt , which he himself staged . The text is about the nightlife on the Reeperbahn in the Hamburg district of St. Pauli . The song became popular through its use in the films Große Freiheit No. 7 (1944 and 1945) and Auf der Reeperbahn at half past twelve (1954).
The title of the song is eponymous for several films:
