from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Institute for Wood and Paper Technology (IHP) was part of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Technical University of Dresden and joined the newly founded Institute for Natural Materials Technology of the same faculty on July 1, 2016. The former IHP combined the professorship for wood technology and fiber material technology (André Wagenführ) and the professorship for paper technology (Harald Grossmann). Most recently André Wagenführ was director of the facility. Since November 1, 2015, Frank Miletzky, Technical Director and Spokesman for the Board of Directors of the Paper Technology Foundation in Munich, has been an honorary professor for paper technology at the institute.

The main focus of the work of the institute lay in the diploma and master’s training of students from different faculties of the TU Dresden as well as other institutions in the field of wood technology , fiber material technology and paper technology. In addition, broad material and process engineering research areas on the topics of wood and paper were processed.

With the elimination of the professorship for paper technology on September 30, 2016, the competencies and structures of paper technology in research and teaching are incorporated into the professorship for wood technology and fiber materials technology and are supported by the honorary professor for paper technology.
