Call My Name ( call my name ) is a song of the German producer and composer Dieter Bohlen . The song was the winning title of the eighth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar , which Pietro Lombardi won. It was released on May 10, 2011 as the first single from the winner's studio album, which is usually produced after the end of a DSDS season, in the case of Lombardi's Jackpot . Two versions of the title were published digitally, one by Pietro Lombardi and one by runner-up Sarah Engels . A few days after the song was released, Lombardi received a gold record for Call My Name for 150,000 sold downloads.

The first allegations of plagiarism surfaced during the final show , as the title, according to the musicologist Klaus Frieler in the tabloid BZ, is similar to the song Marchin 'On by OneRepublic . Universal Music did not want to comment on this despite the request.

In the opinion of the BILD editorial team , the song was not played enough by the public radio stations, despite the charter success. On May 18, 2011, BILD started the campaign ARD boycotted Bohlens Superstars! and urged readers to complain to ARD.

The music video shows Lombardi at an airfield. He wears different suits with matching caps, which are his trademark. In the last scene you can see several planes at night, which are illuminated by headlights.
