Sarah Lombardi (2018)

Sarah Lombardi (* 15. October 1992 in Cologne as Sarah Engels ) is a German pop singer . She became known as a participant in the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar , in which she finished second in the eighth season in 2011 .

Private

Sarah Engels spent her childhood with her parents and her younger brother in Hürth . Her maternal family comes from Italy . From the age of eleven, she performed at school and street parties and took singing lessons for four years . She has the secondary school certificate .

In 2013 she married the singer Pietro Lombardi and took his family name. In 2015 their son was born. The couple separated in 2016 and divorced in 2019.

2011–2012: Heartbeat album

On the day of the final of Deutschland sucht den Superstar her first single Call My Name was released , the interpretation of her winning song produced by Dieter Bohlen . Although the single was only available as a download , it reached number two in the German , Austrian and Swiss single charts. The duet with Pietro Lombardi, already announced in the DSDS finale, appeared on his debut album Jackpot on May 27, 2011 . Her second single I Miss You was released on June 17, 2011 , in a duet with Pietro Lombardi. The single reached number 2 in the German, 6th place in the Austrian and 14th place in the Swiss single charts.

Her debut album Heartbeat was released on June 24, 2011. The album contains the debut single Call My Name and her four so-called highlight songs from the DSDS season ( Run by Snow Patrol , Hurt by Christina Aguilera , One Day in Your Life by Anastacia and I'm So Excited by The Pointer Sisters ). The remaining eight tracks on the album were written by Dieter Bohlen. The album reached number 2 in the German, number 5 in the Austrian and number 13 in the Swiss album charts. The track Only for You was released on September 2, 2011 as the third single . The single reached number 33 in the German and number 47 in the Austrian single charts. From November to December 2011 she was on tour in Germany with Pietro Lombardi, after which the two appeared as guests at Night of the Dance . In the summer of 2012, Sarah Lombardi was seen on the RTL reality show Star Race .

2013: Album Dream Team

Her second album, a duo album with husband Lombardi, is called Dream Team and was released on March 22, 2013. It was the first album that was not produced by Dieter Bohlen. The title song had already been released as a single a week earlier. The album received mixed to poor reviews from music critics. While Medientheke wrote that the couple's voices harmonized, laut.de described the album as "foreign shame". Sarah Lombardi competed against her husband on the ProSieben entertainment show Clash! Boom! Bang! on and won. In November 2013, both were on RTL in the reality show Der VIP-Bus - Celebrities on package tour , in which they were accompanied on a bus tour through Italy. When TOGGO tour in 2014 by Germany from May to the end of August and Sarah Pietro Lombardi were represented in the musical program. In July 2014 RTL broadcast the celebrity edition of the family duel, in which the Lombardi team won against the team around heavyweight lifter Matthias Steiner .

In March 2015, RTL2 ran the docu-soap Sarah & Pietro… build a house . Sarah and Pietro followed in June 2015 ... have their baby and in the spring of 2016 Sarah & Pietro with the mobile home through Italy . On March 18th, the album Teil von mir was released , from which the singles Neverland and Nur mit Dir had already been extracted. In June 2016, she took second place in the dance show Let's Dance . In November 2016, RTL II showed a review of the couple's relationship in the documentary show Sarah & Pietro - The Whole Truth . In 2017 Sarah Lombardi was a candidate for Grill den Henssler and Celebrity Shopping Queen .

In 2018, Lombardi was a participant in the program Das große Promibacken on Sat.1 , in which she took first place. She won a trophy and 10,000 euros for a good cause. Under the new artist name Sarah , the pre-single Precise Here was released in April 2018 , which reached number 31 in the German single charts. In May 2018, the album Back to Me followed , which entered the German album charts at number 18. Together with Stereoact she released the single Wunschkonzert as a guest singer .

In September 2018, she was seen as a candidate for Fort Boyard . In November 2018 she took part in a celebrity special by Ninja Warrior Germany , where money was collected for a good cause. In December 2018, she lost the star against Eko Fresh on the ProSieben show Schlag .

In early 2019 she was a candidate for Dancing on Ice and decided the season for herself. Together with DJ Herzbeat , she released the single Weekend in March , a cover version of a song by the Dutch band Earth & Fire , which they presented in Florian Silbereisen's show Alle singen Kaiser . Together with Pietro Basile , she released the single I love only you in September 2019 , on which she sings in Italian for the first time. At the end of 2019 she was a juror at Das Supertalent alongside Dieter Bohlen and Bruce Darnell . In December 2019, she had a role in an episode of the television series The Dream Ship .

In March 2020 she moderated the music show United Voices on Sat.1 together with Jochen Schropp . She has been under contract with the Ariola record label since the end of April 2020 . In May 2020 she took part in the Free European Song Contest for Italy and came in 13th.
