At first the band was called Polarbear . Under this name she had released her first EP Starfighter Pilot (Electric Honey Label) before she had to rename herself for legal reasons.

Snow Patrol made their commercial breakthrough in early 2004 with their third album, Final Straw . In the British album charts, the record rose to third place. The single run reached number 5 in the single charts. Three more singles followed: Chocolate and the re-release of Spitting Games each made positions in the top 30. In 2006 the album Eyes Open was released , which made it to the top of the British charts. The first single was You're All I Have (UK # 7).
