biography

Ana Johnsson speaks English, Swedish, Norwegian and German. She gained her first musical experience as a singer in the groups @Groove and SoulCream . After winning a Swedish casting show in 2001, she founded the pop band Excellence together with Jenny Karolina Kristina Bergfoth, Malin Catharina Olsson, Susanna Emily Anna Patoleta and Johanna Landt . Together with the Swedish hip-hop musician Markoolio , they recorded the song Vi ska Vinna (German: We should win). The other releases from the album The Region of Excellence ( Need to Know , What's Up , We Can Dance and Mama's Boy ) also became number 1 hits in Sweden. Johnsson wrote songs for the group's second album but decided to turn his back on Excellence in 2002 . This happened shortly after the band was eliminated in the preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest .

After Ana's first album Cuz I Can was only released in Sweden, she recorded the track The Way I Am in autumn 2003 together with producers Marcus Black and Leif Larson , which was released in several European countries, including Germany, where it was the theme song of The motion picture's Autobahnraser became a commercial success. She then recorded her first international album The Way I Am , which also became a commercial success and contains some of the songs from Cuz I Can . Johnsson contributed to the soundtrack of the movie Spider-Man 2 . The song We Are became a commercial success, although it was not featured in the film. The track Cuz I Can was the theme song of the 2005 DTM season . In late 2006, Johnsson's song Catch Me If You Can was selected for the Swedish Winter Games.
