Markoolio (born Marko Kristian Lehtosalo * 1. January 1975 in Lahti , Finland ) is a Swedish-Finnish rapper , Euro Dance - musicians and actors .

Career

He moved to Sweden when he was six months old and lives near Stockholm . Accordingly, he sings mostly in Swedish, but has also recorded Finnish-language albums. His stage name is a mixture of his first name Marko and the stage name of the rapper Coolio .

In 1996, Markoolio was discovered by two Swedish music producers on a bus trip and finally released the song Sommar och sol in 1998 , which rose to number two on the Swedish charts. The third single Vi drar till fjällen then brought him his first number one hit in Sweden. In the following years he published various other works, nine singles and two albums of which could reach the top position in Sweden.

Markoolio starred in various series and films on Swedish television and acted as a presenter several times. In 2013 he won the Swedish dance show Let's Dance together with Cecilia Ehrling ( known under the same name in Germany ). From 2008 to 2012 he was an advertising figure for the roller coaster "Delfinexpress" in Kolmården Zoo , where he also occasionally directed the dolphin show.

In 2009 he took part in the Melodifestivalen , the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . He received a wildcard , but retired with the song Kärlekssång från mig as sixth of eight participants in the second semifinals.

Among other things, he owns an internet café in Stockholm.

Markoolio has been married to Jessica Westergård since August 2014. He has a daughter and a son with her.
