Samra (born January 15, 1995 in Berlin-Lichterfelde , bourgeois Hussein Akkouche ) is a German rapper of Lebanese origin.

Life

Samra grew up in the district of Berlin-Lichterfelde . He first gained fame in 2016 through his guest contributions on the album Back to the Street by Alpa Gun , at that time still under the name Samra45. On the track Chaos he dissed the 187 street gang , which had just become popular at the time , as well as Fler . Shortly thereafter, Farid Bang expressed interest in signing Samra to his label Banger Musik . In 2016 a track with YouTuber and rapper Mert followed .

In 2017 he signed a contract with the Berlin label Ersguterjunge . His first single, Rohdiamant , was released on April 13, 2018 and reached number 26 in the German charts. Shortly thereafter, Bushido separated from the Abou Chaker clan and Samra was the only active signing to remain on the label until the rapper Capital Bra expanded the label again into a trio. Bushido and Samra traveled to Japan and shot the video for the song Hades , the first single from Bushido's next album Mythos . The single reached number 8 in the German single charts on June 22, 2018. On July 5, 2018, the track For you all was released together with Bushido and Capital Bra. The single reached number one in the German and Austrian single charts. For Samra and Bushido it was the first number one hit in both countries. On November 9, 2018, the song Cataleya was released, which reached number one in the German single charts. This was the second time that Samra took the top position. On January 11, 2019, a new track called Instincts was released as an exclusive via the streaming service Amazon Music . Shortly afterwards, a music video was published on YouTube, which could achieve the first place among the German trends. The song was Samra's last release under Ersguterjunge.

On March 15, 2019, Samra and Capital Bra released the collaboration Wir ticken on Capital Bra's label Bra Musik. The song immediately rose to number one in the German single charts. At the beginning of April 2019 it was announced that Samra, like Capital Bra shortly before, parted ways with Bushido's label Ersguterjunge and signed a contract with Universal Urban . With the release of Harami , Samra reached the top of the German single charts for the fourth time in April 2019. Just a month later, the cooperation Wieder Lila with Capital Bra also entered the German single charts at number one. A week later he released the single Marlboro Rot , which reached more than 2 million clicks on YouTube within 2 days. Samra's debut album Marlboro Rot was originally announced for September 13, 2019, but was renamed Smoking Kill in June 2019 and should be released on February 28, 2020. On October 4, 2019, a collaboration album with Capital Bra was released, which was entitled Berlin Lives 2 and is a homage to Capital Bra 's album Berlin Lives (2018). The singles Tilidin , Zombie , Number 1 , Huracan and 110 were published in advance . Despite the great success of Berlin Lives 2 , Samra disappeared by deactivating his Instagram account on October 4th, 2019. On December 5th, Samra reported back and released the single Colt on December 6th . He also announced his album, again with a new title, namely Jibrail & Iblis, for April 17th, 2020. Jibrail & Iblis became a great success, reaching the top position of the album charts in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Samra also received criticism for his album due to lyrical, stylistic and instrumental similarities in his songs, as well as because of too many singles, of which Samra released ten .

Samra is currently under contract with Universal Urban and his publishing house is regulated by Sony / ATV . He also sees himself as part of Capital Bras' label Bra Musik, even if he is not officially active there. Even so, Bra Musik had rights to Samra's first solo album.

On June 19, 2020 Samra released the song Shakira with Kalazh44 . On the single cover, the Colombian singer Shakira was shown in front of a table with white powder and a bank note. It looked like she was pulling cocaine there. In a passage of text it also says literally “Pull Colombian coke like Shakira”. Shakira then took legal action against it. On July 23, 2020, the title was blocked accordingly on all streaming platforms . The song was released again shortly afterwards under the name Kashira and the single cover was not made publicly visible.
