Unique II

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Unique II , sometimes written Unique 2 , was an Austrian Eurodance project that celebrated great international success in the 1990s with the cover version of Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder .

Career

Unique II was founded in 1992 by the two producers Erwin Geppner and Werner Freistätter. Together with Sandy Cooper (singer) and Def-Tone (rapper) the first single "Iko, Iko" was created, which reached the top ten in the Austrian charts and became a summer hit. A short time later, the producers got to know Jade Davis (vocals) and B-Nice (rap + vocals) and the song "Loveline" was born, which reached number 2 in the Austrian charts. The first album "Internity" also quickly reached the Top 10. The international breakthrough followed in 1996: the UNIQUE II version of the Matthew Wilder classic "Break My Stride" was not only number 1 in Austria, but also achieved top chart positions in, among others Australia, Canada, Scandinavia, South Africa, Italy etc.

More single hits, the second album "Level II" followed, and the Austrian dance formation UNIQUE II could be seen in TV shows, in clubs and at festivals around the world. In 1999 Jade left Davies & B-Nice Unique II to pursue her solo careers. So the new album was created in 2000 together with the singers Sheila Fernandez and Christian Troy. The album and the single of the same name "Forever" reached the top 10 again. Until 2003, other titles such as "2 be as one", "Colors", a best-of album "The Gold Experience" and numerous appearances followed. "Unique II" was the most successful dance-pop formation in Austria to date and received numerous national and international awards.
